The evening offered an op portunity to recognize those students who have excelled in projects and competition throughout the year. Marylin Thode received the Greenhand Degree and 11 other FFA’ers earned Chapter Farmer Degrees. Other awards presented went to those students who placed in national contests. They are: Karen Frank, Barb Kudia, Sherri Frey The top three winners in the County FFA Nursery Land scape Contest are, from left, Jim Hess, second; Sherri Frey, third; and Tammy Bresch, first. Jim was also named Chapter Star Farmer and Sherri was named Chapter Star ;ribusinessman and received the DeKalb Award. In addition her first place in the Nursery Landscape Contest, Tammy tceived her Chapter Farmer Degree and a Foundation <ard for placement in agricultural production. Awards were also presented to the top 10 winners in the county FFA Nursery Landscape Contest. Elco Dairy 4-H Club The Elco Dairy 4-H Club met April 25 at Christ Lutheran Church for a project book workshop. Each of the older members brought completed project books from previous years to share with new and younger members. Several members participated in dairy judging at Penn State and Delaware Valley College. Stephanie Wagner reported on the Penn State judging and Adam Sonnen on Delaware Valley. Becky Sonnen reported on the Oral Reasons Workshop held in March at Levitz Park. Duane and Deanette Nolt gave a demonstration on “Making a Delicious Dessert with Dairy Foods.” The next meeting will be held at Nolt’s farm May 30; showmanship demonstrations will be presented. d STRIKE IT RICH!
