She has served as 1983 chapter secretary, 1984 vice-president, and 1985 president. Joyce earned the star greenhand and the star chapter farmer degrees and in addition, she won a gold award for her state-project book in 1983, a production credit award in both 1982 and 1963, a chapter procedure team award in 1984, a public speaking award at the 1982 farm show, and a third place in county demonstration competition. She was FFA queen in 1985. Joyce lists reading, swimming and skating as her hobbies. She plans to attend college and to major in secretarial ag. Robert Phillips Son of Garrett and Carol Phillips, Box 56, Mt. Morris Rl, Robert is a student at Waynesburg Central High School and has been a Waynesburg FFA member for four years. Robert raised 18 head of cattle and 10 chickens as his FFA projects. In addition, he served as chaplain and is currently president of his chapter. He holds the greenhand, chapter and Keystone degrees. He belongs to the FFA club and lists hunting and outdoor activities as his hobbies. Robert plans to attend meat-cutting school in Toledo, Ohio. Huntingdon County Charlie Biddle Charlie Biddle, 17, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Galen Biddle, Spruce Creek. A student at Tyrone Area High School, Charlie has been a member of the Warriors Mark FFA Chapter for four years. Charlie has completed projects 'in field com, market steer and work experience on a dairy farm. He has participated in the Parliamentary Procedure and Public Speaking Contests and in state contests in agronomy, farm management, dairy judging and project book. In addition, Charlie has par ticipated in the Farm Accident Victim Rescue Program, the Silo Rescue Program and in land judging and ag mechanics con tests. . Charlie has served his chapter as president and treasurer, and was selected Star Chapter Farmer. He plans to major in animal science at Penn State. Commonwealth honors Keystone Farmers John Hawn is the 17-year-old son of Clifford and Audene Hawn, Petersburg. A student at Juniata Valley High School, John has been a member of the Blue Juniata FFA Chapter for four years. During his FFA career, John has completed projects in dairy cows, heifers* and calves, com, alfalfa and oats. He has been a member of the Budget and Banquet Com mittees. John has been secretary of both his chapter and the county FFA. He was a member of the Parliamentary Procedure Team for three years. John is a member of the band and chorus and enjoys hunting and fishing. He plans to attend college to major in dairy production. Todd Musser Todd Musser, 17, the son of Frank arid Elaine Musser, Petersburg, has been a member of the Blue Juniata FFA Chapter for three years. Todd’s projects have included beef finishing, home garden, poultry, goats, home im provement, and poultry. He has participated in parliamentary procedure and dairy judging. Todd has been a member of the Program of Work, Recreation, Refreshment, Budget, Fruit Sales, Banquet and Public Relations Committees. He has served as president of both his chapter and the county FFA chapter. He was named Star Greenhand and Star Chapter Farmer. Todd plans to attend a four-year college to major in forestry or park and recreation management. Jim Shade Jim Shade is the 17-year-old son of Geary and Judy Shade, Alexandria. A student at Juniata Valley High School, Jim has been a member of the Blue Juniata FFA Chapter for four years. He has completed projects in dairy calves, heifers and cows, alfalfa hay, and field com. He was also a member of the Fruit and Program of Work Committees. Jim has served his chapter as secretary and vice president and has been county president as well. He has been a member of the Parliamentary Procedure Team and earned the Greenhand degree. Jim plans to study dairy production and computers at Penn State. John Hawn Indiana County Brian James Bendis Brian James Bendis, 17, is the son of Gerald and Louise Bendis, Saltsburg. A student at Apollo- Ridge High School, Brian has been a member of the Apollo-Ridge FFA Chapter for three years. Brian shows hogs at the county fair and raises beef and poultry. He has served on the Banquet and Greenhand Committees. Brian has participated in various contests and attended the 1984 and 1985 National FFa Convention and the 1985 Washington Conference Program. Brian has served as chapter secretary, chapter vice president and Indiana County secretary. He placed second in the County Contest in 1985 and was a member of the second place parliamentary procedures team. In the future, Brian plans to attend college on an ROTC scholarship and major in Marine Science. He has been accepted at Jacksonville University in Florida. John Bouch John Bouch, 17, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Bouch, Burnside. A student at Purchase Line High School, John has been a member of the Purchase Line FFA Chapter for four years. John has had work experience in the areas of carpentry, forestry and dry walling, and management experience in forestry and lum bering. He has been chairman of several committees, and of the BOAC project and of monthly activities. John is currently sentinel of his chapter. He placed in agri business and earned the Chapter Farmer Award. He plans to bcome self-employed in the forestry industry. Howard Peter Cattau HI Howard Peter Cattau 111, 18, is the son of Howard and Irene Cattau, Chine. A student at Apollo- Ridge Senior High School, Howard has been a member of the Apollo- Ridge FFA Chapter for three years. His SOEP projects have included sheep, beef, swine and chickens. He plans to major in ag production at Penn State University. Dennis John Daugherty Dennis John Daugherty, 17, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie A. Daugherty, Spring Church. He has been a member of the Apollo-Ridge FFA Chapter for four years. Dennis has had five market lambs at the Dayton Fair; his third-year carcass lamb was grand champion. He works on his uncle’s livestock farm and feeds ap proximately 250 beef cattle and 100 ewes. He has served his chapter as reporter and vice president. He was named chapter Star Agribusinessman and was chairman of the Chapter Banquet Committee for three years. He was chairman of the Chapter Fruit Sale Committee for two years. Dennis has earned proficiency awards in sheep and beef production. He enjoys fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and riding motorcycles. He plans to major in ag business at Penn State University. He has earned the Greenhand, Chapter Farmer and Regional Farmer degrees. Don has placed first in the county and ninth in the state in meat judging and first in county farm management. Don enjoys hunting and dancing. He plans to attend college and become a CPA. James M. Scott Jr, 17, is the son of James M. Scott Sr., Clarksburg. A student at Apollo-Ridge High School, James has been a member of the Apollo-Ridge FFA Chapter for four years. His FFA projects have included beef finishing, swine finishing and breeding, and sheep breeding. James has served on the Banquet Committee and has participated in the citrus fruit sale and Food for America. James has been chapter treasurer, secretary and county student advisor.
