He is this year’s chapter chaplain. In 1964-85, he served as chapter vice president and as county vice president. In 1962-83, Stephen was junior chapter vice president. He holds the Greenhand, chapter and county farmer degrees. Stephen received the chapter proficiency award for dairy in 1964 and in dairy cattle showing was reserve junior all-Pennsylvania junior 2, showing the second best intermediate heifer calf at the state FFA show. At Troy Area High School, he has been a member of the 4-H dairy club and the junior Holstein club. He is on the school football team for two years. Stephen has definite plans for his future. He says, “After graduation, I will be farming full time in partnership with my grandfather.” Butler County Michael “Mike” W. Kelley Mike Kelley, son of Wayne and Margaret Kelley, Sarver, is in his fourth year as a member of the Knoch chapter, FF A. A student at Knoch Junior-Senior High School, Mike, plans to go into farm production following graduation. He holds the Greenhand, chapter farmer and county farmer degrees. He has participated in meat judging, agronomy, dairy judging, public speaking, sheep production and beef production. In-school activities include track and field, football and intermural basketball. A mechanic, Mike enjdys working on cars, trucks, motor cycles, tractors and heavy equipment. But during fishing and hunting seasons, Mike leaves his cars and trucks for the woods and streams of Butler County. Scott Longdon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan E. Longdon, Renfrew, has been active in the Knoch chapter of FFA for four years. He is in his second term as president of the chapter. He is the holder of the Star Greenhand degree and has been recognized for swine production. Projects include breeding sheep, marketing sheep and swine, truck crops and beef finishing. He is a member of the leadership com mittee. A student at Knock Junior-Senior High School, Scott plans to attend college to pursue an agricultural degree. His hobbies include showing and judging livestock and hunting. Craig Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reid Miller, Cabot, has been a member of the Knoch chapter, FFA, for three years. His FFA activities include dairy Scott Longdon Craig Miller herd, truck crops, oats, hay, com and wheat. Craig has served on both the state activities committee and the scholarships committee and has been involved in the chapter’s money-making projects. He has been a chapter advisor and holds the Greenhand, chapter and tri-county degrees. Craig has many outside in terests, including hunting, building, metal or wood projects, showing cattle and restoring old cars. He plans to join his family’s dairy business on graduation. Carl Richard Shuler Jr. Carl Richard Shuler Jr., son of Carl and Marilyn Shuler (Sr.), Fenelton, has served as president of his FFA chapter, the Butler County Vo-Tech chapter, and has served as reporter for the chapter.
