Grand champion of the show was Alfalfa Meadows Sueann S, owned by Sliker o£ Top Acres Farm, St. Pans, Ohio. Sueann also earned the top honors in the total per formance class. She had 24,620 lbs. milk, 1007 lbs. fat, and 4.1 percent test in her most recent lactation. These are repeat honors for Sueann. This is her second grand championship from the Eastern National show and her third first place win in the total performance competition. Sueann S, sired by Welcome in Stretch, is an 11-year-old with a string of show and production honors to her name. In 1981 she was named All-American aged cow. Her dam is Alfalfa Meadows Sandra G, and she was bred by Donald E. Miller. Judge Steve Blessing remarked that he really admired Sueann, especially for having held up so well and for milking the way she has. Slifer, of Top-Acres, swept the show by exhibiting the reserve grand champion cow as well, and by taking first place wins in all of the cow and group classes, which easily earned him the premier breeder and premier exhibitor banners. He also earned the an nual Ira Irman Trophy for the premier breeder of each National Brown Swiss Show. But the premier honors aren’t new for Slifer either.
