Members fo the 4-H Dairy Clubs from Columbia and Luzerne Counties exhibited four different breeds of dairy cattle. Major exhibits of Holstein and Guernsey cattle were held, while smaller numbers of Brown Swiss and Jersey cattle were exhibited. The type classes were judged by Steve Neely, staff member of Sire Power, Inc., while the showmanship and fitting judging was done by Dan Spangler, 4-H dairy leader from Union County. The showmanship contest was won by Corey Wolff in the junior division, and Sandra Shuman in the senior division. The champion fitter was Carey Jurbala in the junior division and Scott Kriebel in the senior division. In the type show, Corey Wolff showed the senior and grand champion Holstein. Corey has been showing cattle in 4-H for four years. The junior and reserve grand champion Holstein was exhibited by Ben Wolff. Ben and Corey are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Wolff, Millville. Ben has been showing cattle in 4-H shows for 2 years. The reserve junior Holstein was exhibited by Richard Shuman. The reserve senior champion Holstein was exhibited by Carey Jurbala. Wendy Kriebel exhibited the reserve junior champion Guernsey. Top awards in the Jersey division were won by Gretchen Farr of Millville and Julie Hackett of Bloomsburg. Clark Duncan, Millville, had the top Brown Swiss entries. In addition to those winners mentioned above, the following 4-H members received a Blue Merit Award on their animals and are qualified to enter the Regional 4-H Dairy Show to be held on August 2S ANNAPOLIS, Md.
