Lancaster Society 3 Members of Lancaster Society 3 recently enjoyed an afternoon at the Mount Hope Estate and Winery and a tour of the historic mansion and grounds. The group also saw the arts and crafts displayed by various craftsmen during their May meeting hosted by Sara Stober. The group discussed the 1984 state project of “Making Any Item,” whether you use needles, hooks, looms, shuttles, brushes, hammer and nails or whatever. The family picnic is being planned for August 19 at Levengood’s Grove, R 2 Douglassville. The group selected the Washington Inn, Bechtelsville, as the location for the Christmas KEEPIN^^" 4A/omen Societies sibility of keeping members aware of any and all legislative bills discussed or enacted by the state government affecting farm families. The society plans to entertain the local 4-H’ers at a swim party at the Ephrata pool. Date and details will be announced at the July meeting. The July meeting will be on Sunday, July 22 at the Sunny Craft Farm at 12:30 p.m. for the family picnic. Members should bring their own place setting, salad and dessert. played miniature golf at Village Green in Strasburg. The group will take a bus trip to Atlantic City on September 12. The next meeting will be the annual picnic at the Tinny Pavillion in Strasburg on July 12. Each member was instructed to bring a generous portion of a hot or cold dish.
