After being destroyed by fire the following year, the firm was quickly rebuilt and a paint shop with storage facilities was added in 1980 for the reconditioning of used equipment. Nichols Farm Equipment has stayed in the family The Nichols family has been an Allis Chalmers dealer for 23 years. The late Earl Nichols started Nichols Farm Equipment in 1961 and his sons, Richard and William, bought it from him m 1967. Richard became the sole owner of the business in 1979 when he bought William’s share of the company. Richard said he has been involved in the business in one form or another since its beginning. Located in Bloomsburg, Pa., the business has undergone a few changes since 1961. A new shop was added in 1969, the parts room was enlarged in 1974 and a large Shartlesville Farm Service is family Starting in 1955 as a dairy farm equipment dealer H. Daniel and Emma Wenger, proprietors of Shartlesville Farm Service, have expanded th?ir business to include lawn and garden equipment and an Allis Chalmers dealership. The Wengers said that they started to expand their business, which is located in Hamburg, Pa., v> li.,,ii got involved. They added the Allis Chalmers line in 1975 and constructed a new building at their dairy farm managing the service department, other key members of the com pany’s 20 employees include salesmen Sam Siple and Peck Ramsey, and parts manager Paul Coale.
