PH: 215-759-1331 PH: 412-872-6804 PH: 302-337-8211 BY ROBIN PHILLIPS Staff Correspondent FLEETWOOD - The Berks County Holstein Club met on Nov. 18 at the Fleetwood Grange Hall, to review the past year and reward outstanding members. “We have the only undefeated Junion judging team in Penn sylvania,” Carl Brown stated as he presented Todd Miller, Patty Dreisbach, Charles Seidel, and Harold Dietrich with $50.00 savings bonds from the club. Highly prais ed for their efforts in winning the national title, the juniors and their coaches were heavily applauded. Christine Williams also praised the Berks County FFA judging team who received tenth place at the national level with stiff com petition. One of the members, Glenn Stoltfus, placed 3rd national ly. Although the awards were main ly dominated by the Berks County juniors, two adult members also received recognition. Elwood Ohlinger, El, Mohrsville, and his wife, Ruth, of Reu-Hel Farms, received a plaque from the club for the Highest Herd average BAA of 106.4. Ray Bicksler, Richland, also received recognition for consigning the highest selling animal at the an nual sale. “Russelldale Pete Ran di” commanded the high bid of $5000.00 in the annual sale that averaged $1452.00 on 47 head. George Merrill, who selected the cattle for the sale presented Bicksler with his plaque and com mented on the sale. The Berks County Junior Holstein Club presented silver bowls to the winners of the milk and fat production contest with Connie and Cathy Ohlinger dominating the top spots.
