Eastern to hold annual meeting next week SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Eastern Milk Producers Cooperative will hold its Annual Meeting Tuesday and Wednesday at the Hotel Syracuse, Syracuse, N.Y. Nearly 500 persons are expected for the two-day affair. Delegates from each of Eastern’s 125 local organizations will meet in policy session on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The delegate body is the major policy group of the cooperative, whose actions direct the cooperative board of directors and management. All amend ments to bylaws must be ratified by this body, and two such proposals are up for review at this delegate meeting. On Tuesday evening the Annual Meeting Banquet will be held, with the formal Annual Meeting reports scheduled for Wednesday mor ning. The banquet will begin in the Imperial Ballroom of the Hotel at 6:30 p.m., and a dance will follow. Stanley Korona, President of Eastern, said the banquet speaker is Arthur Darling, of the Agribusiness Institute of Florida, Inc. Korona said the speaker is dynamic, with a clear message for farm audiences - “Agriculture’s contribution to America is a story that must constantly be told.” Korona said that Annual Meeting Committee Reports will begin at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Officer’s Reports by Leo J. Connor, Vice President, Earl R. Forwood, Secretary, and George Stam baugh. Treasurer, will follow; and the session will conclude following the addresses of the President and General Manager, Michael Donovan. At the delegate meeting, bylaw amendment proposals relating to the timing of local annual meetings and certain eligibility qualifications of directors will be discussed.
