Eastern to hold annual
meeting next week
SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Eastern
Milk Producers Cooperative will
hold its Annual Meeting Tuesday
and Wednesday at the Hotel
Syracuse, Syracuse, N.Y. Nearly
500 persons are expected for the
two-day affair.
Delegates from each of
Eastern’s 125 local organizations
will meet in policy session on
Tuesday, Oct. 4. The delegate body
is the major policy group of the
cooperative, whose actions direct
the cooperative board of directors
and management. All amend
ments to bylaws must be ratified
by this body, and two such
proposals are up for review at this
delegate meeting.
On Tuesday evening the Annual
Meeting Banquet will be held, with
the formal Annual Meeting reports
scheduled for Wednesday mor
ning. The banquet will begin in the
Imperial Ballroom of the Hotel at
6:30 p.m., and a dance will follow.
Stanley Korona, President of
Eastern, said the banquet speaker
is Arthur Darling, of the
Agribusiness Institute of Florida,
Inc. Korona said the speaker is
dynamic, with a clear message for
farm audiences - “Agriculture’s
contribution to America is a story
that must constantly be told.”
Korona said that Annual Meeting
Committee Reports will begin at
9:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Officer’s
Reports by Leo J. Connor, Vice
President, Earl R. Forwood,
Secretary, and George Stam
baugh. Treasurer, will follow; and
the session will conclude following
the addresses of the President and
General Manager, Michael
Donovan.
At the delegate meeting, bylaw
amendment proposals relating to
the timing of local annual meetings
and certain eligibility
qualifications of directors will be
discussed. Additionally, delegates
will consider at least six
resolutions offered for adoption by
the organization.
