The show was held in conjunction with the 30th Penn sylvania Holstein State Spring Show, last Friday in the small arena of the Farm Show Building. Exhibitors came from the United States and Canada to show their cattle. Buyers gathered last Saturday in the small arena of the Farm Show Building to watch the Red and White cattle be auctioned off. The sale was held in conjunction with the first spring show (see accompanying article). Donated semen was auctioned off by C. Sherman Allen, bringing a total of $3249. Proceeds from the semen sales will go to the Red and White Cattle Association for promotion. Popularity of the breed is catching on in the United States, as is evidenced by the increase in size of die show each year. Judge, Norman Hill of Jefferson, Md selected a three-year-old, exhibited by Robert Morrell of Cochran ton as Grand Champion Female. The Grand Champion, C Emerdale Cinci Sheila-Red, bred by L.W. Emerson and sons, also Med & White Sale totals 83 head $l5OO. Seven animals sold for over $3OOO. A bull calf born a the two day show and sale was also sold at the sale. Two heifers bringing $3700 each were the top-sellers. Maplelawn Kemp Syh "■-Red, a bred heifer was consigned by Earl McKinnell and Sons of Smithville, Ontario. Sybil was purchased for $3700 by Allen Sell, Sellcrest Farm, Watertown, Wis. Sybil is bred to Stanhope Cannonade, her dam is rated as Good Plus. Tieing Sybil at $3700 was Junell C.A.R. Edlyn-Red, consigned by Elder and June Vogel of Rochester, Pa. Edlyn was bought by Hinrechs and Hellenbrand of Madison, Wis. Her dam is rated VG-87-EX Mammary. won Senior Champion Female and best udder in her three-year-old class. Freiso Jetstar Ideal-Red, exhibited by Albrecht Farms of Guelph, Ontario won Reserve Grand Champion Female and Senior Champion Female. She is also a three-year-old. - Junior Champion Female, Albrecht Rusty-Red-ET, was bred and exhibited by Albrecht Farms. The Reserve Junior Champion Female, Pilatus Pre Joe-Anne-Red was Exhibited by Vernon D. Stoltzfus. Taking Grand Champion Male and Senior Champion Male was Burket-Falls True Value-Red-ET, bred and exhibited by Burket-Falls Farm. Reserve Grand Champion Male and Junior Champion Male to Med-OBloom Mike Harv, a junior yearling bull exhibited by Country Meadows Farm. Topping .off the show was the presentation of the Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor prize. Winning both honors was David Burket of Burket-Falls Farm in East Freedom.
