A new method has been designed to pack this type tobacco. Size and grade of these bales are important for marketing this tobacco in the Southern States. A baling box machine should be used which puts up tobacco in 22" bales and weigh 75 to 80 lbs. This size is very important for marketing in Southern auctions. Also lower moisture in this type tobacco is required by the Southern buyers. Cotton twine must be used to tie bales. Proper processing is important. If you have any questions about selling or handling Maryland tobacco, call the local buyers at, E.J. Parker Tobacco .Co. Warehouse - Lancaster, Pa. 717-291- sbBB.
