Delaware’s poultry diagnostic NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware has stepped up efforts to combat poultry disease with several im portant changes at its poultry diagnostic laboratory in Georgetown. A full-time poultry pathologist and a senior research technician have joined the staff, filling two critical vacancies, and several key pieces of equipment have been added to the physical plant. Another addition is a holding room for birds brought in by poultry service workers. Birds are kept here until Odor can work on each individual case. According to Eld Ralph, director of the Georgetown substation and executive secretary of the Delmarva Poultry Industry, Odor works closely with the nine Delmarva growout companies in maintaining flock health.
