But judging by Red Lion FFA chapter’s four female winners of the Keystone degree, women are holding their own in the once male only Future Farmers of America. Not only is Barbara Kilgore a Keystone winner,-this young dairy woman has also been selected the Southcentral Regional Star Farmer of Pennsylvania. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Robert Kilgore, Airville R 2, Barb is the sixth generation of Kilgores - on this farm high on the rolling hills above Muddy Creek. At age 8, Barb joined up with the local Milk and Money 4-H dairy group, and obtained her first heifer from neighbor George Knight, Jr. As her interest in dairying grew and the time came to choose a high school course of studies, Bart settled on the vocations agricultural program at Red Lion.
