Capturing the limelight tor exhibiting the Grand Champion Steer at the 4-H round-up was a six year 4-Her, Kenianne Kanck, Maiden Creek. A silver plate was donated by Berks-Lehigh PCA and Federal Land Bank, Shoemakersville. Michelle Harley, Douglassville, showing for only the second year, received a silver plate donated by Agway of Leesport for exhibiting the Reserve Champion Steer. in other awards, Darlene Dietrich, Hamburg, received two plates for Senior Showmanship and Senior Fitting. These plates were donated by F.M. Brown Son’s, Inc., Birdsboro, and Van-Mar Feeds, Shoemakersville. Darlene has been showing in 4-H for ten years, this being her last. Darlene and Michael Strause, Hamburg, were also given watches trom Hamilton Bank for their contributions to the beet club since both arc graduating members. Michelle Harley, 14, of Douglassville and Kenianne Rarick, 14, of Reading, received silver' plates for being named reserve champion and champion steer winners, respectively. Berks Co. A Champion Intermediate Showman trophy was presented to Kenianne Kanck, donated by Mogel Feeds ot Hamburg, while Kirk Fisher, Oley, was presented a trophy tor Championlntermediate Fitter, sponsored by American Bank ot Reading. In junior competition, Jane Zook, Oley, received Champion Fitter trophy and Lori Rabenold, Kutztown, received the trophy tor Junior Showman, these were donated by Farm Bureau, Bechtelsville, and JV Farms, Douglassville. Karen Rabenold, Kutztown, received a trophy donated by K&W Feeds, Centerport, tor most weight gained. Trophies tor Champion and Reserve Champion Heifers at the Oley Fair were also presented during the evening. These were won by Kirk Fisher and Kenianne Kanck, respectively; donated by JV Farms, and Diesel Service Inc., Reading. Awards were presented for best blueforms in senior, intermediate and junior divisions.
