The 1,030.2 million pounds pooled was 37.5 million pounds more than a year ago. According to a recent bulletin from New York-New Jersey marketing area, there were 17,658 producers in the May 1981 pool. The average daily delivery per producer was 1,882 pounds. Producer milk receipts totaled a record 538.3 million pounds during May, a slight increase from April. May milk production was up almost 40 million pounds or 8 percent from a year ago. Class I producer milk totaled 237.4 million pounds, accounting for 44.11 percent of total receipts. This was a new low Class I utilization percentage and well below the 48.66 Class I_ percent May. There were 7,476 producers supplying pool handlers during the month, an increase of 161 from a year ago. The daily average per producer was 2,323 pounds in May. July Class I price The Order No. 4 Class I milk price for July 1981 is $15.39 per hundred weight for 3.5 milk. The price is based on the May 1981 Minnesota-Wisconsin manufac turing milk price of $12.61 per hundredweight, adjusted to 3.5 percent butterfat content, plus a $2.73 Class I differential.
