New projects were to sew at the Osteopathic Hospital October 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and some members volunteered to help at Conestoga View on May 28. The October meeting date has been changed to October 17. Next month’s meeting will be held at the home of Blanche Miller instead of the Hempfield Church of the Brethren. Berks Co, Society 1 The regulax montly meeting of Berks Farm Women was held at the home of Mrs. Warren S. Haas, Amityville, with 17 members present. A gift exchange was held of white elephant items. A donation of $lOO was made to the Hamburg Center, to pay for patients at summer camp. Two members will serve at Berks Heim Open House on June 7. . The Group will have a stand at Boyertown Sidewalk Sale on June 23 to inform the area of club ac tivities and aims. The next meeting will be June 10 at the home of Marian Haas in Amityville. Berks Co.- Society 4 Berks 4, met recently at the home of Mamie Hafer, E 2 Oley. Ten members answered roll call by reading a poem about Mother. The Group will have food stands at two household sales this month. The program for the May meeting was a plant exchange. Each member brought a plant. Each member also received a flower for Mother’s Day. The next meeting is planned for June 2 at 6 p,m. at the home of Feme Kulp, R 4, Boyertown. A motion was passed to send 3 disabled people to camp this summer from Hamburg Center. Berks Heim picnic will be held June?. Berks County 4-H asked for contributions for their new com munity building and animal building in Bern Township. A motion was passed to donate 8100 to them for the patrons share. The meeting ended with Kim Casner demonstrating how to jnake paperweights and each member made their own-using dried flowers and seasbells. The June 3 meeting will be held in the home of Karen Schreier at 8 p.m. Each member was assigned a different dish for the nutrition program and asked to bring the recipe and Explain the nutritional value. The May meeting of Farm Women 12 was. held at the Bem ville R 1 home of Mabel Strunk. Fay Strickler of the Berks County Extension Service was the guest speaker for the evening. She gave a talk on diet and nutrition. Berks Heim Picnic is June 7. Rita Stump and Pauline Hartranft will help at the picnic. The Berks Heim needs used hearing aids and lap robes. The Hamburg Center will have a cake sale June 2. Any farm woman wishing to donate a baked item can bring them along to the next meeting which will be held at the Bernville R 2 home of Mary Leymeister,- June 8, at 8. Ken Moyer of State Farm Inc. will show a fire safety film. The May meeting of York Farm Women 7 was held recently.
