Twin ELVERSON - On Friday, March 6, approximately 180 members, friends, and guests attended the 16th annual Twin Valley FFA Banquet in the cafeteria of Twin Valley High School. Following opening ceremonies by the chapter officers and in vocation by John Parmck, chapter chaplain, a baked bam and chicken dinner was served by Wegman’s Catering Service. The Twin Valley jazzband provided dinner music. Following the meal and music. President Don Stoltzfus extended a welcome to the banquet. Chapter secretary Sue Ford introduced special guests. Chapter sentinel Nelson Beam and Reporter Diane Stoltzfus presented Certificates of Appreciation to persons who have substantially aided the chapter during the last year. James Tretter, State wide Vice- President of the Pennsylvania FFA, delivered an address to the banquet. Larry Shrawder recognized the Twin Valley Dairy Cattle Judging Team, which placed first in the Pennsylvania FFA Contest and represented the state of Pennsylvania in the national contest. Team members Don Stoltzfus and Steve Snyder received silver medals in the national contest, with Tim Kurtz winning a gold medal, and the team received a gold medal for placing fifth in team standings. Howard Gnest also received a trophy in recognition of being named FFA Boy for the Reading Fair.
