Both pickup units have open-end design to pull hay m from the front and sides Low profile row-crop units are offered m two sizes. A two-row unit adjusts for wide and narrow rows and fits on both harvesters. A three-row narrow unit is offered for the 881 only. It can be adjusted for wide or narrow rows, and has a grinding capacity of up to 12 tons per hour. An ear corn hopper attachment fits either machine for stationary chopping of ear corn and blowing into storage facilities. The various crop units attach to the basic forage harvester quickly and easily. The operator lines up the carrying unit from the tractor seat, drives the tractor forward to engage the crop unit with a lift yolk on the basic machine The crop unit is automatically positioned properly with the basic unit. The operator then lifts the unit hydraulically, inserts two locking pms and installs the drive chain to complete the hookup procedure.
