Starlings eat the combination bait and poison and fly away to die at their roosting place or on the way. A very low percentage actually die at the baiting site as the poison takes as much as three days to work. Birds do not become bait-shy because of the slow-acting properties of this poison. One baiting may last up to three days and one to three baitings usually reduces the pest flock substantially. DO DEAD BIRDS POSE A PROBLEM?
