DOVER - Dawn Raubenstme, a 14-year-old member of the Hanover 4-H Community Club, and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Raubenstme, Hanover Rl, received the Grand Champion Award for her capon Nov. 20th at the annual show and sale staged after the Lions banquet at Dover Fire Hall. The capon weighed 12 pounds, 4 ounces and was sold to the Straley Farm Supply Inc . Thirty capons were en tered by the York County 4- H’ers. announced that it will receive proposals for grants m-aid between December 1 and January 15. The The Board’s Chairman, Joe Hughes explamed that the new soybean checkoff program will be used to fund proposed research, educational, production and market development programs related to soybeans. Hughes stressed that proposed projects must present an opportunity for results beneficial to Delaware’s soybean producers and industry. Projects funded by the Board may be in any segment of the soybean industry but will be directed towards areas with the greatest opportunity to reduce production and marketing costs or increase the usefulness of soybeans and soybean products. The Board said it intends to develop a balanced program which encourages a continuing acceptance of soy products.
