The conference is designed to better the leadership abilities of the chapter officers throughout the county. Guests included; Larry Shrawder, State FFA President; Judy Zim merman, State FFA Secretary, and Dick Anglestem, a staff writer for Lancaster Farming. After the sessions the officers returned to the mam auditorium to sit m on the freshman quiz contest. In this contest entries were quizzed on their knowledge of the FFA, its practices and history. Tim Pfautz took first m the contest and Bob Leicy was the runner-up. Telephone No supper After the meal the Honorary Red Rose degrees were presented by each chapter. The award is given to an individual in the community or school ad ministration who has been a strong supporter of the chapter. The following in dividuals were named for this award: Henry M. Hooves from the Ephrata Agway received the Award from the Ephrata Chapter, Garden Spot and Toshep Campanella, the Assistant Principal at their school for the honor; Honored by Lampeter- Strasburg was Ruben Harmsh for his help in their Hog Confinement Cattle Confinement Free Stall Bams ft Silo Feed Rooms Livestock Barns Tobacco Project; Jim Shultz, Assistant Principal at Manheim Central received the honor from the Manheim Chapter; Pequea Valley chose Reginald S. Remley, District Superin tendent at Pequea Valley to receive the honor; Henry Brenton and Hoe DeLong received the award for the Farmers National Bank of Quarryville for the Solanco Chapter; Warwick honored David Buckwalter.
