Cl2—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, November 29,1980 i Junior Cooking 1 j| Edition || Juniors, now that Thanksgiving is over, everyone is plunging mto Christmas: mom and dad are trying to get your Christmas presents ready, stores are decorating with snowmen and elves; grandma is busy baking cookies; and your neighbors are hanging Christmas lights. You can do your share of the planning and work too. Take down those old Thanksgiving decorations and make , new ones. Try snowmen, angels, Santa Claus or sleighs. If' you don’t want to make them from paper, ask mom if you can paint pictures right on the windows. Poster paint flows on easily and it washes off with water. But watch the curtains when you paint! Make your own wrapping paper this year. Ask mom for some freezer paper and paint Make complete pictures or find odd-shaped kmckknacks and dip them in paint, then press on the paper to make a unique design. You may want to help mom by watching your little brother or sister, if you have any, so she can do some Christmas planning. Try drawing a picture of santa and his elves and let the young ones color them with crayons. To help make the days go fast until the holidays, here are three recipes for you to try. Make them all in one day and see how fast that day goes. Then start counting down the days till Christmas!
