Although the reserve has been called, fanners are not required to sell the gram. The call requires them to repay their loans within 90 days of the date they are officially notified of the call. County offices of USDA’s Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service will officially notify producers whose loans have been called. The reserve is being called because the national average market price for com has been above the $3.15 per bushel reserve call level for five consecutive market days.
