B6—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October 25,1980 Ephrata FFA holds EPHRATA - The Cloister FFA Chapter at the Ephrata High School recently held two annual events. The first was the Green Hand Initiation at the Ephrata High School auditorium. Highlights of the evening were a tour of the agriculture department and color slides presented by Mr. Ayers. Dan Lynch, chairman of the committee announced approximately 80 pumpkins were entered by students throughout the district. Seeds were provided for each sixth grader last spring and students were en couraged to grow the pumpkins for the fall con test. Each student was permitted to exhibit two ition at the annual initiation program, E pumpkins, one in the heaviest and one in the best shape category. FFA members served as the official judges.
