ALEXANDRIA, VA - Middle Atlantic Order Market Administrator Joseph O. Shine announced last Friday a September 1980 base milk price of $13.47 per hundredweight and an ex cess milk price of $12.03. The weighted average September price is $13.47 and the butterfat differential for the month is 16.7 cents. The base milk price in creased 26 cents from the previous month and is 79 cents higher than last September’s base price. The advertising withholding rate, which is deducted from the base and excess milk prices only and not the weighted average price, was 12 cents a hun- , dredweight this year compared to 7 cents a year ago. The gross value of producer milk during September was $62.3 million. A total of $556.2 thousand was deducted for advertising and promotion. Shine said producer receipts totaled 463.5 million pounds during September, an increase of one percent from the previous month, on a daily basis, and 5.7 percent above last September. There were 117 more producers than a year ago. The average butterfat test of producer milk was 3.53 percent for the month compared to 3.46 percent m August and 3.54 percent one year ago.
