Coyne’s 4-H steer tops Solanco show BY PAT KAUFFMAN QUARRYVILLE - 4-H exhibitors walked away with both champion and reserve champion honors at the Solanco Fair 4-H and FFA baby beef competition held Thursday evening. The 4-H middleweight steers dominated the competition as Bill Coyne’s first placing animal in that division was chosen as champion of the show and Fritz Frey’s second placing animal in the middleweight class was tagged reserve champion of the show. The two black steers were champion and reserve champions of the 4-H show respectively. Bernie Houghton exhibited the champion FFA steer with Sam Long taking reserve honors in the vo-ag competition.
