B€~Lancaster Farming, Saturday, August 30,1980 Central District FFA Dairy Show winners • BEAVER SPRINGS - The 25th annual Central District Future Farmers of America Dairy Show was held on August 15, at the Beaver Community Fan- Grounds, Beaver Springs. Participating this year in the annual Dairy Show were FFA Chapters from Mid dleburg, West Snyder, Big Valley, Selmsgrove, Mahantango, State College, Warriors Mark, Penns Valley, Clearfield, Upper Dauphin; Newport and Miffhnburg. All dairy animals were broken into the different age groups as governed by the major Dairy Breeds; and were placed with a Blue Ribbon, Red Ribbon or White Ribbon category. AH Blue Ribbon winners were eligible to show their dairy animals at the Pennsylvania Junior Dairy Show held on September 22, 1980 at the Farm Show Building m Harrisburg: The Judges were Type Judge, James McCaffrey, Warriors Mark; fitting judge, Donald Sanders, Horse Show (Continued from Page B 5) Junior English division was a Welsh pony, Grey Vixen, shown by Irene Shipman, 12, of Colora, Cecil County. Sugar Kane, shown by Bird Mobberley, 11, of West Friendship, Howard County, was the reserve champion mare. Mobberley also placed m equitation and performance classes. A Bel-Air, Harford County resident, 12-year-old Diane Edwards, had the champion gelding, Aymer County Copper, An Arabian horse. The pair was third in English Pleasure. The reserve champion gelding was Dandy Tee. The pony was shown by Valene Wallace, 13, of Perryville, Cecil County. Market Administrator Thomas A Wilson, who announced July’s prices, also said the uniform farm price was $11.92 per hun dredweight in June 1980 and $ 11.60 per hundredweight in July 1979, The uniform price is a marketwide weighted average of the value of farm milk used for fluid and manufactured dairy products. The Class I milk is used for fluid milk products such as homogenized, flavored, low test and skim milks.
