Carpenter of East Stella Street, Philadelphia, will receive the Keystone Degree during special ceremonies in Harrisburg on January 9. As a member of the Philadelphia FFA Chapter, John has participated on the Executive Committee and Community Service Com mittee. He was also chair person of the Leadership Committee. He has served as the Chapter’s chaplain and has earned the Chapter’s leadership award. John is currently self - employed as a landscaper. He has worked for the School District of Philadelphia as a turf technologist. These experiences have contributed to John’s receiving the Turf Technology Achievement Award. John has also participated m public speaking com petitions and has taken achievement awards in this area. While attending W.B. Saul, John has been nominated to the National Honor Society. He also works on the yearbook staff, and is a peer counselor. In the future, John plans to New Ringgold. If his involvement in Philadelphia’s FFA Chapter is any indication of his abilities; it is likely that James will be successful in obtaining a State officer’s position. Thie year, James is ser ving as the Southeastern Area’s co-advisor. He is both the Philadelphia Chapter and area vice-president. Last year, James served as the Chapter and area sen tmal. His FFA awards have included the Chapter Far mer degree, Chapter leadership and parhmentary procedure awards. He placed second in the area quiz bowl. James has a veal calf and home insulating projects. He has also served a term as chairperson of the Supervised Agriculture Experience Program and the Recreation Committee. James has been president of the W.B. Saul dairy club. James plans to major in agriculture education during college. Schuylkill •/ County JAMES DUNN Blue Mountain High School James Dunn, the Blue Mountain FFA Chapter president, will receive his Keystone Degree at the Winter FFA Convention on January 9 in the Forum building, Harrisburg. Jim has also been a member of the School parliamentary procedure team and demonstrations team, during his junior and senior years. In addition to the Keystone Degree, Jim has earned the Greenhand, Chapter and County Farmer degrees in FFA. In addition to his FFA membership, Jim is a member of the Schuylkill County 4-H Baby Beef Club. He had one 4-H show steer for a club project. Jim is active as a member of the Freidens Church of Christ, New Ringgold, where he serves as a junior deacon. After graduation, Jim hopes to become a full-time dairy farmer. Mike Rebuck, the 13 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rebuck, Deep Creek Road, Hegms, has been selected to receive the " Keystone Degree. In his five years of membership in .the Tn Valley FFA Chapter, Mike has earned the Schuylkill County Poultry Award. His 7500 broilers and 4500 roosters contnbuted to this honor. In the future, Mike intends to work on his father’s farm and is considering a part nership with his father. Mike’s hobbies include motorcycling, snowmobiling and trapping. Mike Rebuck BRIAN L. KLINGER Tri Valley High School Brian L. Klinger, the Schuylkill County FFA vice president will receive the honored Keystone Degree on January 9. In addition to his leadership positions, Brian has earned the Livestock Production Award, the Soil and Water Conservation Award. He was also a wmner in the County Tractor Driving Contest. Brian’s extracurricular activities have included membership in Tn Valley’s student council. His hobbies include fishing, skating, snowmobiling, and hiking. Brian L. As a four year member of the Trx Valley FFA Chapter, Dan has had a variety of projects including pheasants, potatoes, and Christmas trees. He has also participated in the FFA Exchange Program and has served on the banquet committee. Currently, Dan is serving as Tri Valley’s Chapter Reporter. His pheasant projects enabled him to win the local and county Poultry Production Award. Also, Dan earned the Public Speaking Foundation Award.
