About two hundred members and guests attended the yearly business session and dinner held at Rutters’ Restaurant on October 19. - Trophies went to winners in the annual junior fitting and showing competition, held in July at Beshore Farms, New Cumberland. Kelly Blessing of Wright sville, and David King, Delta, took the first place team award in the overall fitting category. Second was Dana Doll of Glen Rack and Fitting and showing day awards were presented to several youth at the York County Holstein banquet. Beshore noted that the Pennsylvania Holstein Association is donating ten thousand dollars toward improved reserach facilities for large animal studies at the New Bolton Center. The Center is the training grounds for veterinary students from the University of Pennsylvania, and a national leader in the em bryo transplanting program. An equal amount will also be donated by the Penn sylvania Farmers Association for the research facihties. State director of promotion, Robert Morris, announced a registry moratorium on two-year-old animals. During January, February, and March of 1980, purebred animals past normal registry age can be registered by special' aj> plication. A fifty-dollar per head fee will be charged for issuing the moratorium registrations. Entertainment for the evening was provided by the Happy Valley Boys and Delores. Chairing the dinner committee were Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Crowl of Airville and Mr. and Mrs. Paul King, Delta.
