Dog obedience trial winners NORRISTOWN - Meg Amson of Lansdale and her dog “Molly” took top honors in the 4-H Dog Obedience Trial held during the recent Montgomery County 4-H Fair. Reserve champion awards went to Kit Jones and “Ali” of Schwenksville. Th’rd place went to Cindy Mc- Farland of Trappe with “Fantasy” while fourth place was won by Missy Lorrenoon and “Maggie” of West Point. Kutztown Energy Expo set KUTZTOWN - The 1979 Woodburners Expo and Alternative Energy Show, will be held at Kutztown Fairgrounds, Saturday and Sunday, September 15 and 16. The Expo is designed to provide information and guidance in selecting and adapting alternative energy systems to individual homeowner needs, says James 6. Davis, coordinator of the event, and a member of The Pennsylvania State University’s Berks County Cooperative Extension Staff. Entertainment for the event will be provided by The Foggy Mountain New Liberation Art Unit, a five Others participating in the match were BUI Derby of Lansdale, Karen Fitzgerald and Deb Moyer of Harleysville. The trial was open to 4- H’ers who completed the summer dog obedience project under the instruction of Mrs. Ruth Lerda of Perkasie. Persons over 18 attending the Expo will be eligible for door prize drawings, with prizes donated by business concerns in the area. Some of the topics and demonstrations will include: * Woodstove selection, installation, maintenance, and construction. * Felling trees: how to select, safely use, sharpen and maintain a wood saw. * How to manage a woodlot; wood species and their burning charac teristics; how to split, dry and store wood. * How to cook on a wood cookstove, installing add-on demonstration of utility dogs by other members of the Training Club highlighted the trial.
