12 —Lancaster Farming, Saturday, February 3,1979 Livestock market an Omaha Cattle February 1,1979 CATTLE - Compared with previous week’s close midweek prices on slaughter steers ranged 1.50-2.50 higher, and heifers were 2.00-2.50 higher, limited late trading was weak however, under a cautious demand. Cows were 1.00-1.50 higher and bulls firm. The upward spiral in fed cattle prices continued at an accelerated pace during the week under review. Marketings were of modest proportions and slaughter under federal inspection was also somewhat below nor mal. Most interests were in need of cattle for immediate requirements and the sharp upturn in live prices was partially supported by an advancing carcass trade. An additional bullish factor was added by the latest “Livestock Inventory”. The overall finish was reasonably attractive with a fair percentage Choice and a modest volume Choice and Prime, although many earned considerable mud; yield grade and mud were major price determing factors Steers made up approximately 40 pet and heifers 35 pet. Cows com prised 13 pet and feeders 11 DCt. DOES YOUR FARM EQUIPMENT HAVE DIESEL PROBLEMS????? Contact us MILLER DIESEL INC.
