—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, December 23,1978 50 Dear Santa, It seems like the creatures of the barnyard have gathered together their Christmas lists and asked me to write to you. While I realize that you have most of the presents picked out, please don’t ignore these last minute requests. First off, the horses request some carrots and apples. That's fine by me, except for Dollar. If your’re going to bring that overeager-for-feed horse anything, please make sure that it is dietetic. And please speak to him about the ingenious ways he devises to steal the other horses’ hay. I know that Dollar tries to be a good horse, but, well, then there was the time he grabbed my hat in his mouth, and took off with it too. I think a lecture from you would do him a world of good. Now the four woolie lambs that are out in the barn, and being kept for show, well, they would each like to have their very own show blanket. And furthermore, each one wants one a different color. So that means a blue one, green one, a red one, and a gold one. They've been very good this year, I’m happy to report, except fopr Moped. What can I say about a sheep named Moped 7 Could you please take a moment to explain to Moped that she is a sheep, and can not rule the entire barnyard? The other sheep are beginning to look at her kind of funny. The dogs are always happy with the snacks tht you leave them and between that and the leftover turkey that they get on Christmas Day, they manage to waddle into their doghouses. They promised again not to bark this year when you come, although Sam, the hunting dog, asked if he could come out of his doghouse and watch. He mumbled something about keeping up his image as a watchdog. The cats requested slower mice to catch, warmer Winters, and cream every morning. But they said they'd be happy with pieces of catnip. All in all, the animals just wanted to tell you that they’re always glad to see you and your eight reindeer Their will be hay on the lawn for them and a snack in the house for you I know that! haven’t taken the time to write to you myself this year, so I will just close with a few words 1 don't know what to ask for this year, because I already have so much In many ways, this past year has been the best year of my life, and I'm looking forward to the next year even more I am very happy this Christmas, and I guess my one wish is that everyone could share the Christmas spirit throughout the next year I’ll be looking for you Christmas Eve Love, Kendy Farm Women Societies (Continued from Page 49) Women Society 5 attended a Christmas banquet at the Esthers Diner in Fredericksburg recently.
