Verna Taylor, Linda Taylor and Elsid Rothem berger will represent the Society at the State Con vention. Nine members attended a work shop day at the home of Vema Taylor. Christmas favors were made for Meals- On-Wheels and also trays of Christmas cookies and candy were made up for ill and shut-ins. The Society exchanged Christmas gifts and revealed their secret pals. Mrs. Edna Angstadt of Boyertown R 3, will host the next meeting on January 2, 1979. Berks Co, Society 5 A family Christmas dinner was held December 9 at the Tulpehoken U.C.C., Millersville, by the Berks County Farm Women Society. Santa Claus gave gifts to the children and secret pals were revealed. The next meeting will be on January 22 at the home of Mrs. Alan Rauenzahn, Bernville R 2. A safety program is planned and will be presented by Mr. and Mrs. Lester Feick, Jr. of Rehrersburg. Berks Co, Society 9 A Christmas celebration with a turkey and roast beef dinner was held by the Berks County Farm Women Society at the Gilbertsville Fire Company, recently. Eighteen people were present. Gifts were ex changed. The evening ended with music by the Silver tones. Peggy Lewis, Amityville will host the January 3 meeting. Installation of officers for the next two years will take place at that time. Lancaster Co. Society 3 Mrs. AUegra Leininger entertained Lancaster County Farm Women Society 3 at their Christmas meeting, December 16 at the Swamp U.C.C. Fellowship Hall in Reinholds. Special guests were children of the members. A short business meeting was conducted by President Miriam Moore. A com mittee reported that 31 bed mwb is born in the Spirit. A donation was given to a family in need. Plans were finalized for the State Convention and new yearbooks were distributed. It was noted that this coming year, 1979, the Society will celebrate their 60th, Diamond Jubilee, year. The Society chorus en tertained the group. Steve Brubaker and his friends Walley and Gertie en tertained the ladies with a magic show. Santa Claus visited and gave gifts to the children. The ladies also exchanged gifts. A social hour followed with refreshments. The next meeting will be held at the Salem Lutheran Church in Ephrata. Mrs. Davis Miller will be the hostess. Lancaster Co. Society m Lancaster County Farm Women Society 22 met at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Hoover for their annual Christmas party. Serving as Co-hostess was Mrs. Jack Robinson. Gifts were placed under the Christmas tree to be delivered at a later date to the children at Christ Home. Final plans were made for the eight members attending the State Convention in Harrisburg January 8 and 9. Lancaster Co, Society 28/ Lancaster County Farm Women Society 28 met on December 7, at the home of Mrs. Harold Rohrer. Co- Hostess was Mrs. Melvin Zimmerman. A short business meeting was conducted by President Mrs. Elvin Hess. Members revealed their secret sisters by exchanging Christmas Gifts. Lebanon Co, A visit to the E.C.C. Retirement Village, Myerstown, to give gifts to a member and an adopted woman, was on the evening agenda of the Lebanon County Farm Women Society during their December 14 meeting. After the visit, the Society met at the home of Carol Burkhart for their meeting. The President had tickets for the State Convention. Plans were made to go caroling at the homes of shut-in members. A Christmas bazaar was held after the meeting. Beulah Risser will host the January 11 meeting in her home. Changes for next years program will be discussed.
