I’m thankful for abundant feast fixin’s that I don’t have to chase, catch, kill, clean, plant, weed, dig, store - or even peel or stuff - unless I per sonally choose to do so. Preparing from scratch is still my preferred way to fix most of our family’s favorites, like the bird, the stuffing, the mashed potatoes and the pumpkin pie But I have the choice, if I wish, to instead buy, open, thaw and microwave - or even eat out We truly do take for granted our American food supply, of greater variety and cheaper than anywhere else on earth, that has remained constant and abundant. Its efficient production has freed our citizens to pursue a myriad of careers and luxuries, while they are sustained by a relative handful of dedicated food and fiber growers.
