Compared with last Thursday’s market, slaughter cows How and When to Treat Septic Systems If the septic system has required pump.ng as often as once a year, the probability is that grease and solids have been going out into the seepage area, thus clogging or partially clogging the surrounding soil and restricting drainage Even where pumping has not been necessary if the system is more than two or three years old, the probability is that some grease and solids have escaped into the outflow and trouble is not far off So the treatment schedule listed below will be applicable in either situation FOR EVERY 4 PEOPLE USING THE SEPTIC SYSTEM 1 Start the MEDINA ACTINA program by flush ing one pint ACTINA into any dram leading directly into the septic tank 2 Two weeks later repeat the above treatment 3 Thereafter, use one half pint each month Treat regularly If the septic system has a distribution box between the septic tank and the seepage area, treat with ACTINA in the distribution box as follows For every 50 people using the septic system pour 1 gallon ACTINA into the distribution box ' 2 Three weeks late' repeat the same treatment This low-cost preventive maintenance program will help to preserve the useful life of the in vestment in the septic system and will reduce the necessity to pump out solids to an absolute minimum When you consider the high cost of replacing the septic system or any part of it, the investment you will be making in ACTINA should reduce costs and show a worthwhile dividend 4-H dairy .
