52 —Lancaster Farming, Saturday, December 24,1977 Farm Women Societies Berks Co, Society 1 County President, Mrs. Helen Ebling, was the guest at the Berks County Farm Women Society 1 Christmas party and business meeting. All 25 members and their husbands attended the event which was held at the Olde State Bam, Oley. The group will be having a refreshment stand at the Adams and Body sale on January 7, 1978, in Yellow House. Thirteen members will be attending the annual State Convention held in the Harrisburg Forum on January 9 and 10,1978. The next meeting will be on January 18 at the home of Mrs. Janice Schlegel, Oley Restarting at 8 p.m. Berks Co, Society 8 Officers of Berks County Farm Women Society 8 were recently sworn in by Mrs. Helen Ebling, county Farm Women president. Officers accepting duties included: Mrs. Helen Shirey, president; Mrs. Shirley Davis, secretary; Mrs. Dottie Hoffman, treasurer, and Mrs. Donna Hix, corresponding secretary. Mrs. Darlene Yost and Mrs. Barbara Kintzer will serve as ushers at the State Farm Women Convention in Harrisburg scheduled for January. Committee chairmen were announced. They are: Mrs. Barbara Kmtzer, ways and means; Mrs. Viola Yost, programs; Mrs. Gail Malsbury, special events; and Mrs. Doris Koenig, Berks Heim. The first meeting of the group for the 1978 year will be held January 24 at the residence of Mrs. Joyce Deisemann, Shartlesville. Lancaster Co, Society 3 Mrs. Ivan Eberly was the hostess for the Lancaster County Farm Women Society 3 Christmas party, held for members and their children December 17 at the Salem Lutheran Church, Ephrata. Jay Stoltzfus provided the program for the day, with his “A touch of Magic” presentation. There was a visit from Santa Claus who presented gifts to all the children. Members of the group ex changed gifts. Outgoing officers, Mrs. John Ed wards, president, and Mrs. Ivan Eberly were presented with gifts of appreciation. The next meeting will be January 21 at the Salem Lutheran Church. At this meeting, the new officers will be seated. Lancaster Co, Society 7 Members of Lancaster County Farm Women Society 7 held their December meeting at the home of Mrs. Alyce Weaver, Christiana, with Mrs. Esther Arment, Mrs. Pauline Hall, Mrs. Mary Usner, and Mrs. Francis Kuizer serving as hostesses. It was announced that. Mrs. Mary Denlinger and Mrs. Betty Wenger will attend the Farm Women Society state convention. A special collection was received for the Christ Horae in Paradise to remember the workers at Christmas time. Lancaster Co, Society 8 Lancaster County Farm Women Society 8 met in the home of Mrs. Vera Frey, Marietta, December 10, to have their annual Christmas party. Twenty four members and 19 visitors were present. The special feature for the evening was a talk given by Charles Rentzell, Bain bndge, who is employed at the Three Mile Island. Several games were played and some of the traditional Christmas Carols were sung. There will be no January meeting as this is the time for the state convention. The next meeting will be held at the Crossroads Church (Brethren in Christ), Mount Joy on 1 ebruary 18 at 2 p.m. George Endslow will show slides at this time. Lancaster Co. Society 22 The December meeting of Lancaster County Farm Women Society 22 was held at the home of Mrs. Cloyd Wenger, Lancaster, with Mrs. Cora Frymyer serving as co-hostess. Proceeding the meeting, members enjoyed a tour o m) the Wenger home filled with homemade Christmas decorations and crafts. President, Mrs. Clair Witmer, conducted the business meeting during which it was announced that the “Dinner Bell” and “Dinner Bell Rings Again” cook books would be printed and ready in January.
