Omaha Cattle September 1,1977 CATTLE - Compared with the previous weeks close - cows were 50-1.00 higher and bulls firm to 50 cents higher. Four day receipts 14,800 as compared 15,200 previous week and 17,900 a year ago. Fed cattle prices were forced downward on Monday and only slight recovery was noted at midweek as the bearish effects of a slow moving carcass trade was reflected in live trading. Most buying interests were cautious with best demand .still centered on the available supply choice 1050-1300 lb.'steers carrying a minimal number of yield grade 4 animals and on same grade 925-1025 lb. hiefers. Supplies were poorly distributed over the trading period with near 50 per cent of the four day supply arriving on Monday.
