—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, July 23. 1977 38 Area 4-H livestock judging contest scored By LAUREL SCHAEFFER Berks County Reporter NEW TRIPOLI, Pa.—The Lehigh County 4-H Livestock Club was the host to nine other counties Tuesday, when 68 4-H members met for livestock judging com petition at Snyder-Lehigh Farms, near here. The contest was set up as a practice for the upcoming 4- H Days, August 2 and 3 at Penn State University. The 4-H’ers judged six classes; two each of beef, sheep, and swine. The senior judges also gave three sets of reasons, one for each species. Taking top spot for in dividual seniors was Tim Beck of York County, with a total score of 368. Tim also placed first in reason scores. Second place in individual scores was Ted Teaford, Montogmery County; followed by: 3. Barb Sickler, Chester County; 4. Harris Wright, York County; 5. Laurie Dobrosky, York County; 6. Gail Snyder, Lehigh County; 7. Tim Long, Lancaster County; 8. Diane Krause, Lehigh County; 9. Sarah Brubaker, Lancaster County; and 10. Larry Sch wader, Berks County. Placing first in county teams were: Tim Beck, Harris Wright, and Laurie Dobrosky for York County. Second place went to; Gail Snyder, Diane Krause, and Brian Ruck of Lehigh, followed by: 3. Tim Long, Sarah Brubaker, and Judy Zimmerman of Lancaster; 4. Bill Fairbains, Barb Sickler, and Jordan Smith for Chester; 5. place was Dennis Dietrich, Larry Schwader, and Glen Yanos for Berks County.
