Saturday, May 28, 1977 18 * • « ** The top four finishers in {he first annual Lancaster County FFA agricultural mechanics contest were, left to right, and in order of placing, Steve Miller wins mechanics contest EPHRATA, Pa. - Steve Miller, a member of the Manheim FFA Chapter, won the first annual Ag Mechanics Contest held here at Ephrata High School on Wednesday afternoon. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Miller, he is a junior at Manheim Central High School. The contest was open to all schools in Lancaster County with vo-ag departments, although Ephrata, Manheim, and Penn Manor were the only chapters represented. Covered areas will vary from year to year in future contests. A written test and problems in each of three areas were a part of the contest. Skills had to be demonstrated in each. Miller, who is very highly involved m the home fanning operation, has a high degree of capabilities in agricultural mechanics, according to his instructor, Glenn Spangler.
