Cows mostly 50 cents Tower, bulls fully steady. Four day receipts 14,400 as compared 13,100 previous week and 14,500 a year ago. The fed cattle trade showed little net change for the week although there were moderate day - to day price variations; prices were forced downward on an expanded Monday run of 7600 head, but the downturn was recovered on an abbreviated Tuesday supply and held near steady in midweek trading. There was a generally broad demand as most interests came into the week with minimal live inventories on hand, with especially good inquiry for heifers late. Marketings were poorly distributed over the trading period with more than 50 of the four day total arriving on Monday. The overall finish was attractive, with a liberal percentage choice and moderate volume choice and prime. Steers made up approximately 42 and heifers 40. Cows comprised 11 and feeders 6.
