This effort was recognized in January when the President’s “E” Award for outstanding service in promoting U.S. agricultural exports was presented to the Agriculture Department at the Annual Farm Show. At the conference, Ker stetter said one of the state’s most important agricultural export items is dairy breeding stock. Destinations included France, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Czechoslovakia, Kuwait, Russia, Spain and Turkey. Kerstetter noted that Pennsylvania was the first state to participate in a foreign food trade show as a government entity Lon don, 1964, Later, Penn sylvania became the first state to sign up for par ticipation in the com puterized trade opportunity referral system established by USDA.
