Saturda: 50—1 York FF A members honored at spring parents-awards banquet - The Kennard-Dale FFA held their annual Parent* Member banquet recently in the high school cafeteria with 235 people in at tendance. Ed Hulshart son of Mr. and. Mrs. Clarence Hulshart Stewartstown, received the DeKalb Award given each year to the outstanding senior student in vocational agriculture. Ed ,was also recognized as the winner of the Pennsylvania Pork Producers Outstanding FFA Student in Pa, for receiving the Keystone Farmer Degree and for placing first in the Pennsylvania Project Book Contest in swine finishing. He also received a swine Production Foun dation Award. r. May 1, 1976 Eddie Ailes, chapter President, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ailes, Delta, received die Chapter Star Farmer Award given each year to the student- con tributing most to the chapter activities. Eddie also won a Bronze 'metal in the State Project Book Contest with his four enterprise project book and received the White Rose Degree. Five individuals were honored with Honarary Chapter Farmer Degrees. They were Nicholas Corbo, High School Principal, Mrs. Ethel Darkes, Guidance Counselor, Clarence Hulshart, local businessman, John Mar steller, local fanner and Weaver Hull, custodian. Star Greenland Awards were presented to two ninth grade -students' who demonstrated the most potential for outstanding - leadership in the future. They were Tracy Hprsley son of Mr. and Mrs. McGinnitty, New Freedom R 1 and Jeff Unison son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Earle Wilson New Freedom, Rl. Other winners in the State Project Book Contest were Paul Knight, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Knight,, Jr., Airville. Paul also won a gold medal for Ist, place in Swine Breeding, Terry Murphy son of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Murphy, Delta got 3rd. In Wildlife Conservation, Ron Grove son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Grove,’ Woodbine, Bronze in Off-Farm Oc cupational Experience Program, Dean Miller son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Miller, Jr., Stewartstown, Bronze in three enterprises, Albert Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Robinson, Delta, Bronze in three enterprises, Tim Sizemore, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Sizemore, Fawn Grove, Bronze in On- Farm Work Experience, and Steve Strickler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Strickler, Delta, Bronze in Off-Farm Work Experience. Steve Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Earle Wilson, New Freedom, was honored for receiving the State Proficiency Award for Ist place in Swine Proficiency and also as an outstanding FFA Student at the Keystone International LivestocE Show.
