Whitmore said he was “somewhat amazed’’ about the few entries and also noted the quality wasn’t as pronounced. This is not to say that the tobacco is of low quality, however. As Whitmore put it: “Everybody should be commended, we would just like to see more.” Hostetter and Whitmore both acknowledged having seen some “nice tobacco,” both at the show and on farms.
