For more information on the event contact the local grange organizations. KEYSTONE GRANGE FAIR GARDEN SHOW Saturday, August 2,1975 (Or rain date) Open To The Public RULES: 1. Specimens must have been grown by the exhibitor. 2. One entry per household in any one class. 3. Plates, if required, to be supplied by exhibitor. They shall be made of sturdy paper, be plain white and without design. (Two plates together may be needed for better stability.) 4. Any entries not con taining the proper number of specimens will be disqualified by the hor ticultural committee. (Bring an extra or two on perishable items for any damaged enroute.) 5. Entries will be received at the fair grounds between 9:30 and 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 2, 1975. 6. Entries to be removed by the exhibitor between 6:30 and 7:30 P.M., Saturday, August 2, 1975. 7. Special parking pass will be provided for exhibitor paying initial parking fee and then returning to the grounds. It must be requested when placing your exhibits. JUDGING 8. Specimens are to be the size most commonly used in home food preparation, unless a specific size is stated. Select your specimens for uniformity of size, shape, color, maturity and trueness to the variety. Specimens should be free of insect and disease damage. 9. Each award level will receive a point value - see Prizes, below. 10. If there is only one entry in a class, it will receive an automatic Second Award, unless in the opinion of the judge(s) the entry merits a First Award. 11. Decision of the judge(s) is final. PRIZES 12. Place Point Values: First Award - 5 points, Second Award - 4 points, Third Award - 3 points, Fourth Award - 2 points. 13. Entry Point; Any entry not receiving a place Award, as in rule 12, will receive 1 point, for entering. 14. Points will be totaled for each exhibitor and prizes will be awarded as follows: Highest Total Points - 510.00, Second Highest Total Points - 7.00, Third Highest Total Points • 5.00, Fourth Highest Samuel Kriebel, Mainland, Pa., stands beside a 1917 Case steam traction engine which he will exhibit at the Keystone Grange Fair,Trappe, Pa., on Total Points - 4.00, Fifth Highest Total Points-3.00. CARROTS - plate of 5 specimens (trim tops to approx. 1 inch) 5. CORN, sweet - 5 ears, husked (suggest enclosing in clear plastic bag to retain freshness until judging). 6. CUCUMBERS, picklers, 3” and under - plate of 10 specimens. 7. CUCUMBERS, picklers, 3 -5” - plate of 5 specimens. 8. CUCUMBERS, sheers - plate of 5 specimens. 9. EGGPLANT specimens. 10. PARSLEY, curled type -1 bunch (15-20 stems) in water. 11. PEPPER, bell type - plate of 5 specimens. 12. PEPPER, long, thin, sweet - plate of 5 specimens. 13. PEPPER, hot-plate of 5 specimens. 14.
