Tractor pull results given KINZER For the third consecutive year, a national tractor pulling contest was held here last weekend with a $16,000 purse at stake and several thousand spectators cheering on their favorite engines and drivers. Drivers came to Lancaster County from all over the U.S. to participate in the pull, one of only about 45 such big events held in the entire country each year. A spokesman for the track noted that over 100 entries were accepted this year and that sorrfe drivers described the track as the best one they had been on in spite of the frequent rains we have had here. “The track was covered and not affected by the rains,” explained Lester Houck, a track official, adding that it could be said the track was ideal. However, the rains did force cancellation of events which were to be held Thursday night, and a part of the crowd left because of rain on Friday. Following are the results of the eight classes held.
