The officers had placed a display which won Ist place prize in the York Fair. The members decided to give the 50 dollars prize money to the Carroll F. Thompson Scholarship Fund. The last of the new business was that the FFA voted to buy a Sweetheart crown, sash, and jacket. At this time the County FFA Sweetheart, Deb Sweitzer, was introduced. The county officers than held the White Rose Degree Ceremony, and recipients received their degrees. The awards for dairy cattle and livestock judging contest were given Also the awards for public speaking, salesmanship, agronomy, small gas engine's, and flower arranging contests were given out. The parliamentary procedure team and farm mechanics skills awards were given out also. Then, the initiation of new officers was held. They were as follows: President - Lamar Miller, South western: Vice-President - Dave Miller, Red Lion; Secretary Palmer Kauff man, Red Lion, Treasurer - Jim Sizemore, Kennard- Dale; Reporter - Scott Hunt, Eastern: Sentinel - Cheryl Mummert, Vo-Tech; Chaplain - Dan McGregor, Dover; and Parhmentanan - Harold Stoneberg, Northern. President Miller read his acceptance speech and President Sechnst read his retiring speech. The meeting was then closed and refresh ments were served. Record Meeting Set Farm Record Keeping will be the educational topic of the Twin Valley Young-Adult Farmers at the January 21st meeting Speakers for the program will be Mr Rich- Ronald Nolt, son of Mr & Mrs Paul Nolt, RDI Mount Joy. placed third (3rd) in the Tractor Safety Contest at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Ronald is a member of the Central 4-H Keeping mond (Dick) Young, Agway Farm Consultant, and Mr. Glenn Beam, a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Beam will speak on “Save Tax Dollars with Good Bookkeeping.” His presentation will illustrate how to use records for tax purposes with many helpful hints included. Mr Young will speak on “Analyzing Farm Records ” He will explain how to use records to evaluate and improve your operation, and how to determine your rate of return on money invested Record keeping is usually a joint husband and wife affair. Therefore, wives are encouraged to attend this program along with their husbands The program will begin at 7-30 p m in the vocational agriculture classroom of the Twin Valley High School All programs of the Twin Valley Young-Adult Farmers are educational in nature and open to anyone interested in agriculture or its related occupations Wayne K.
