August 3. 1974 Lancaster County 4“H NEWS Lampeter Merrimaids The Lampeter-Strasburg 4-H Merrimaids held their round-up and fashion show on Monday, July 29th at the Martin Meylin Jr. High School. Debbie Rohrer, president, and Sue Groff, secretary, were in charge of the Fashion Show. Debbie welcomed the mothers and Sue gave a reading on “The Seamstress’’. Jewel Hess played a piano solo. Each girl modeled her garment and was awarded a certificate and ribbon. Each leader was presented with a gift to show appreciation for all they have done for the clubs. Following the show the cooking club members served refreshments. Jan Hess News Reporter Mt. Joy Photography Club The Mount Joy Photography Club held a meeting at 8:00 P.M., July 18, at Glossbrenner United Methodist Church in Mount Joy. Mr. Dan Hoy, our leader from Micheal’s Camera Shop of Park City went over some pictures with us taken at Landis Valley Farm Museum on a camera jaunt. He also helped us select some pictures for the State 4- H Photography Contest. Using a strobescope we took some very bizarre Klassy Klippers The final work meeting of the Landisville 4-H Sewing Club was held on July 18 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Cen terville Junior High School. The 4-H Club Pledge was led by June Grube. A short business meeting was held. Claudia Bard reported on the County Council meeting held on July 17. The following strations were Busy Bakers 4rU Club The Busy Bakers met July 23, 1974 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Mt. Joy. Thirteen members attended the meeting. Each member brought four oatmeal cookies to be judged for 4-H round-up July 24. All members received blue ribbons for their cookies. The food project for this meeting was making cocoa. Our next meeting will be held on August 13, at 7:00 P.M. at Blossbrenner United Methodist Church.
