His projects include a dairy herd of four, five acres of corn, and five fattening hogs. In 1970, as a freshman, Dean received the Star Greenhand award. In 1972 he attended the National FFA Convention and exhibited animals at the Lebanon Area Fair Dean has been a member of the Parliamentary Procedure team for three years, and placed first in county and third in area public speaking contests. He is currently president of the Little Dutchmen chapter and secretary of the county organization. He is a member of the Gingrich Mennonite Church where he serves as president of the youth fellowship. Richard Groff, son of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Groff, 1506 West Main Street, Ephrata was a chapter delegate to the National FFA Convention at Kansas City, Mo. He was a member of the winning area land judging team. Richard also won a gold medal in the State Land Judging Contest held at Penn State. Paul was the top in dividual dairy judge in the state contest last summer. He has also been on the Ist place team at Columbus, Ohio, 2nd place team at Penn State and 3rd place team at Springfield, Mass. Horning was chapter delegate to the National FFA Convention. His farming program includes registered Holsteins, market lambs, veal calves, field corn, and alfalfa. Paul has shown his dairy animals at local and state shows winning many awards. One of his animals was named junior champion at the State Junior Show. William Ford 111 is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Ford of Honey Brook. Bill is currently employed by Stoltzfus Brothers IGA, where he has worked for the past three years. He is also currently serving as the assistant treasurer of the Twin Valley FFA. During Bill’s freshman year he served on numerous FFA committees, including the Banquet committee. As a soph more and junior, Bill served as treasurer of the chapter. He received the chapter farmer degree and served on many committees, including serving as chairman of the fund raising activities. As a freshman Bill had beef cattle for a project. During his Sophmore, and Junior years he carried a work experience project, working at the Stoitzfus IGA. Bill has always been an active memberbf his church. He has participated in the Honey Brook Presbyterian Youth group and is currently the Treasurer of this group. He has also been a member of the church baseball team for two years. Bill is un decided about his plans after graduation from Twin Valley High School'this spring. Ruth Friedhofer Owen J. Roberts Chapter Ruth Friedhofer, daughter of Mary L. Friedhofer, Spring City, is a senior Vo-Ag student at Owen J. Roberts. In her junior "year, her program in cluded two beef animals, one of which she showed, plus the poultry. She retails her eggs to neighbors, and her mother sells them at work, with her Ag teacher, Neal Burtner, pur chasing some of the surplus. Ruth participated in the Senior Livestock Judging Contest* at Penn State during FFA Activities Week where she won a silver medal. She represented Owen J. Roberts Chapter at the PAFC Workshop held at Shippensburg College in July of 1973. Ruth is an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Phoenixville. In September of 1974, Ruth will be a freshman at the Chester Co unty Hospital School of Nursing, West Chester, Pa. N. Thomas Mowrer Owen J. Roberts Chapter N.
