The team, composed of Chapter officers, finished fourth Nevin Mast competed in the area public speaking contest at / the same time, finishing fifth with his speech on alfalfa The Chapter had hived a swarm of bees at Charles Gable’s farm. Mr. Frederick reported that eight five-pound packages of bees had been ordered for the Chapter and members interested in keeping bees as a project Plans for the recycling center were progressing. Places are still needed to put barrels for glass in several communities in the district. Conservation District Competing for Award Lancaster County Con servation District is in the race for top honors in the 27th annual Goodyear Conservation Awards Program, Aaron Z Stauffer, Ephrata announced this week. The district will be competing on the basis of its record of service to land users in the contest sponsored by The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Com pany in cooperation with the National Association of Con servation Districts. (NACD) An independent judging committee to play softball with Owen J Roberts FFA was approved. The final item of business was the installation of new officers, using the official FFA Ceremony. New officers are: Terry Murray, president, Robert Stoltzfus, vice president; Ronald Smoker, secretary, Robert Evans, treasurer; Lloyd Simmers, reporter; Melvin Houck, sen tinel; Larry Stoltzfus, chaplain, and Nevin Mast, Junior advisor.
